Registration Information

Registration Policy

Salt Lake Theological Seminary subscribes to a policy of equal educational opportunity for all people regardless of race, age, sex, national or ethnic origin, religious or political affiliation.  Students may register for a limited number of classes before they have completed the process of applying for admission to a certificate or degree program; however, students must have a bachelors or higher degree in order to register for graduate credit.

*Salt Lake Theological Seminary is an associate member of ATS, the Association of Theological Schools.

How do I decide which classes to take?

Consult the current Course Schedule and select classes that fit your schedule, ministry needs and interests, taking into account any pre-requisites or limitations noted in the schedule.  Students who are seeking to earn a specific degree or certificate should review the relevant section of the Academic Catalog, or contact the Registrar’s Office, for information on courses required for their chosen program of study.

When can I register?

Registration generally opens about 60 days prior to the start of the semester.  Students should register well in advance of the first class meeting to ensure seating availability.  Each Course Schedule includes a published registration deadline, after which a late registration fee of $20 will be charged.  When space is available instructors may, at their discretion, allow students to register during the first week of class.

How do I register?

Our Online Registration is fast and easy, and available 24 hours a day.  If you prefer, you may call the seminary on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to register.  Within the greater Salt Lake City area call 801-581-1900; toll free call 888-809-1265.

How do I obtain books?

Salt Lake Theological Seminary does not currently maintain a year-around bookstore.  Prior to each semester, a list of required and recommended books is published online in the syllabus for each class.  Students need to order their own books through online or retail sources, but should be aware that certain theological and biblical studies texts may have limited availability.
