SALT LAKE THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY WILL HOLD COMMENCEMENT ON
SATURDAY MAY 14, 2005

 IN OPENING REMARKS, BOARD CHAIRMAN WILL ANNOUNCE RESULTS OF $500,000 FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN

Salt Lake City, MAY 11, 2005 – On Saturday May 14 at 3:00 PM, Salt Lake Theological Seminary will hold commencement exercises at First United Methodist Church, located at 203 East 200 South in Salt Lake City.

This year, as well as conferring Certificates and Diplomas, the seminary will graduate its first class of Master of Divinity students,. “This is a historic event in the life of Salt Lake Theological Seminary,” says Don McCullough, the school’s president. “Graduating our first Master of Divinity students brings us one step closer to applying for accreditation with the Association of Theological Schools.”

In his opening remarks, Board Chairman Dr. Jeffrey Silliman is expected to announce the result of the seminary’s recent fund raising campaign. The campaign, which began on April 1 and is set to end on May 12, is slated to raise $500,000 or else the school may be forced to sell its building.

All members of the public are invited to attend commencement, which is preceded by an open house at the seminary earlier that day. Building tours will be offered from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, after which faculty members will give free public lectures from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
