Personal Background

Amber is a native of Salt Lake City and considers Utah “home.”  Compelled by her love for the mountains and her resident family and friends, she has returned to this familiar landscape between intervals in Chicago and Vancouver.  She and her husband Paul currently reside in St. Andrews, Scotland where she is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of St. Andrews in Hebrew Bible.

Why I teach at Salt Lake Theological Seminary

Salt Lake City is such a unique place!  Here, most religious dialogue between Christians and non-Christians comes easily because of a shared faith experience.  Piety, morality, and reverence for the sacred are affirmed, creating a unique intensity of conversation.  Living out my faith in such a setting challenges my assumptions and confirms my convictions.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach and be taught in such a setting.
