Personal Background
Growing up in Colorado and pastoring churches in Northern Arizona and Northern
Utah, Bill has lived most of his life with mountain ranges in clear view.
Perhaps this in part explains why having a perspective of how the "peak"
doctrines in the Bible relate to each other is of particular interest to
him. Living the past 30 plus years in Utah has motivated him to reflect more
carefully on those teachings where Mormonism has diverged from historic
Christianity. Bill teaches theology and mission at Salt Lake Theological Seminary and
directs the school's Field Education program, which places MDiv students
as interns in local area churches. He was the pastor of Family in Christ Church in Ogden, Utah
for over 30 years.
Why I teach at Salt Lake Theological Seminary
I have found a community of colleagues, staff, and students who challenge
me to know God more deeply and with whom I share a vision for helping to
make Him known at this time and in this place.
